About Us

The World Seido Karate Organisation was founded in the year 1976 by world renowned Grand Master, Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura, a ninth dan (degree) black belt. The Organisation combines traditional practices of Karate as a martial art with the beliefs and principles of Kaicho that have been honed by him over fifty years of learning and teaching karate.

Seido, a Japanese word, literally means ‘the sincere way’.

Respect, love and obedience are the founding principles of Seido Karate. The training in this art teaches its students the true meaning of traditional Karate. The emphasis is on developing every individual – physically, mentally and spiritually.

Students of Seido Karate hence become examples of its true teachings in all walks of life.

Today, over 50,000 students are studying, practicing and teaching Seido Karate all over the world.

Our founding principles

Seido karate aims to develop students both physically and mentally, the mental aspect lacking in what came with Kayokushin karate’s explosive popularity. Seido’s goal is to create complete and balanced individuals. This form of karate, though catered to mind-body individual growth also promotes the development of love and community between family and friends.

The 3 main principles of Seido karate are:

  • Respect: For your elders, your parents and their wisdom and experience, and for your fellow karate ka (or, “karate colleagues”).
  • Love: Peace within yourself to love and respect yourself and an openness and love for others.
  • Obedience: To understand and follow governmental and moral law and the desire to become someone concerned with ethics and humility. Obedience does not mean subservience; kids are taught to both understand morals but also to think for themselves in a peaceful mindset.

Our dojo: the special place

The word ‘Dojo’ is a Japanese word that translated into English means classroom or training place. In Karate a Dojo has its sanctity and a special significance as a place for reverence for the art of Karate.

Our Dojo is housed in Arya Samaj Mandir complex in GK I, New Delhi. It has a very convenient location, right near Summer Fields school and behind the popular M-block market.

Kyoshi Hardeep Singh established this branch in the year 2000. Kyoshi Hardeep Singh is a fifth dan (degree) black belt.

Having trained directly under Kaicho, and with over 34 years of association with Seido Karate, he represents everything that Kaicho preaches and practices. In this Senpai Chit Ranjan assist him. All of who are black belts with the added distinction of having earned this grade from this very dojo.

The Dojo itself has a very serene atmosphere. It consists of a spacious hall, which can easily accommodate all the karateka’s (Karate students) and also separate changing rooms for men and women.

Besides the Training hall, the Dojo also has a huge open ground in front that is also utilized for open-air training and conditioning.

All the equipment and training manuals are kept in the Dojo and students are encouraged to use them and ask for them.

Do visit our Dojo and see one of our classes – we promise, it’s an experience that you will not forget!
